Dave Matthews Band plus Robert Randolph & the Family Band at The Shoreline 9.8.06 Leaving Santa Cruz on a perfect September day, we felt a warm embrace from the Bay Area music fans instantly. Traffic was light for a Friday afternoon and parking at the Shoreline couldn’t have been easier. As we neared the gate, the sexy rhythms of Samatha Stollenwreck filled the air adding to the festival like atmosphere. Robert Randolph & the Family Band took the stage with soulful presence and electrified the crowd with their funkalicious love groove! The band’s life force was off the chart as they played with pure passion everyone got out of their seats and danced! Dave Matthews Band powered out a lot of great new music and rocked the house with some fond classics. The whirling notes enraptured the crowd resulting in an unstoppably fun dance party. It was all we could do to control ourselves, the music won out and we danced the whole entire show. DMB has very dedicated fans and we are anxiously awaiting their next Shoreline show Oct 21-22 for The Bridge School Benefit with Neil Young w/ Pearl Jam, Trent Reznor and more!
