What an oddly entertaining gem! It may sound obscure and depressing – a guy’s mom dies and he goes home to New Jersey for the funeral, without his meds – but it is an offbeat, moving, and often crazy/charming ode to twentysomething angst that truly delivers. This is first time director Zach Braff’s semi-autobiographical story of first love and rebirth, is often hilarious, and is not to be missed (1 hr 49 min).

Based of the true story of a college basketball team in mid-1960s El Paso Texas, history's first all African American starting lineup of players and their difficult path to more than just NCAA championships. We are taken for a passionate ride by coach Don Haskins, who along with his rookie team is determined to take his players to the top and must withstand harsh discrimination, racist attitudes and team mates’ limiting beliefs. This is less about basketball than it is about believing in your dreams against all odds. Josh Lucas stars as Hall of Famer Coach Haskins, whose ardent commitment to bringing out the best in self and others redefines what it means to win (1 hr 58 min).
